Having been brought up in a musical family - his father was a pub pianist and accordion player and his mother an amateur soprano soloist - it was almost inevitable that Mike would follow suit. He started learning piano at the age of seven and had organ lessons from sixteen.
Mike graduated in Music and Mathematics from the Roehampton Institute where he studied piano with Peter Croser and frequently performed as a soloist and in ensemble at the lunchtime concerts. After many years working in the IT industry, Mike now offers private tuition in piano and mathematics. He can regularly be found playing piano, guitar or organ and singing at Christchurch, Hitchin.
Having sat in occasionally as rehearsal and performance accompanist for the Letchworth Chorale, Mike assumed this role on a regular basis at the start of the 2019 Autumn term.
