Tom Nichol : Musical Director

Tom originally studied the piano with Stephen Watkins and then undertook further study at The University of York with Sarah Beth Briggs, where he specialised in accompaniment and chamber music.

Since graduating Tom has become a teacher and has also established a performance career, as a continuo player working with several ensembles on a variety of period instruments. Tom has recently released a recording of the previously unheard music of Thomas Tudway in conjunction with The National Trust and the ensemble, Eboracum Baroque, with playing that “Injects a remarkable range of colours into the score, with playing of vividness and poise” and “playing that is stylish.” (The Guardian, 2015).

Previously Tom has performed at many venues including: London’s Grimeborn Opera Festival, Brandenburg Choral Festival, Ryedale Festival, Ely Cathedral, St John’s College, Cambridge and Christus Kirche, Hannover.

Tom is a music teacher at The Highfield School in Letchworth and in addition accompanies local performers and coaches ensembles.
