Alison Borner : Accompanist

Alison Borner has accompanied the Letchworth Chorale since 2005.

Alison graduated in Mathematics from Southampton University. She worked for the Scientific Civil Service and taught Maths in secondary schools, before returning to her lifelong interest in the piano. She obtained her Certificate of Teaching on the piano (CTABRSM) and now works as a peripatetic piano teacher in local schools. She has also spent several years coaching and accompanying school choirs.

Alison has had opportunities to perform piano concertos by Schumann, Chopin, Mozart and Shostakovich with the Letchworth Sinfonia and has played the piano solo part in a performance of ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ with the Hitchin Concert Band.

Alison also plays oboe in the Stevenage Symphony Orchestra and percussion with the Hitchin Concert Band. She regularly plays in chamber music groups on both piano and oboe.
